Case Presentation
Mrs. Cooper, an 84 year old white female with a history of Alzheimer's disease, hypertension, osteoporosis, and osteoarthritis presents to the emergency department with her daughter after sustaining a fall at home. Mrs. Cooper has been evaluated in the emergency room, and has been admitted to the hospital.
You will watch a video, in which the physician assistant from the team that will be caring for Mrs. Cooper during her hospital stay is now evaluating her. While watching the video, pay attention to the errors that are occurring. You may wish to make note of any errors you notice on a piece of paper.
The team will ultimately need to work together in a way that demonstrates the values and ethics previously outlined in disclosing the error to Mrs. Cooper and her family.
